Our Inspiration

In February 2016, our lives changed forever.

A beautiful and much loved member of our family, Sharon Fenech was diagnosed with a large brain tumor.  After the shock of hearing that it was a brain tumour and having urgent surgery our family received the worst possible news.  The tumour that Sharon had was a grade 4 GBM, the worst of the worst. You are given a 25% chance of surviving more than 12 - 18 months and basically told by the hospital to get your affairs in order.

Our beloved Sharon fought the unbeatable fight with such grace, strength and courage it was inspiring.  She never complained, not once no matter how much discomfort she was in.

A terminal illness is a heart-breaking ordeal for the individual faced with their mortality and the family who ride the emotional rollercoaster that comes with losing a loved one to cancer, as you watch them die in slow motion.   It is a totally surreal situation, as cancer (especially GBM) is so aggressive and savage it all unravels so quickly.

You are thrown down the rabbit hole, diagnosis, urgent surgery, chemo, radiation! It seems like a nightmare that you so desperately want to wake up from, however it’s real and unfortunately in the real world you don’t always get the “happily ever after”.

Whilst it is the individuals’ journey, all the family and friends are along for the painful ride. In the end there are no winners, just broken hearts and wet eyes. Cancer is the only enemy and has taken yet another brilliant soul way too young.

Sharon just wanted to help as many people as she could before her diagnosis and during her battle, and at Pure Little Hearts it is our greatest mission to honour her wishes. She has given us the courage to take the necessary steps to start this company and to help as many people as we can.  We will continue to fight for every person on the planet, to live a healthier, happier, more positive life.

She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She was beautiful for that sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful for her ability to make other people smile even when she was sad. No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful deep down to her soul.
